The Three Authors Who Unlocked My Joy of Reading

Never would I have imagined myself incorporating reading as part of my daily routine. Growing up, I never developed any interest in reading. I still recall the mandatory morning reading sessions during school days, which felt like a chore. I would flip directly to the jokes section of Reader's Digest and admire the beautifully captured photos in the National Geographic pages.
As the saying goes, 'Never say never.' Many years later, during my first trip to Mysore, India, for a month-long stay, I picked up my first book from the Sapna Bookstore (which has become my favorite for its extensive titles and reasonable prices...hehe!).
My initial foray into the world of books began with 'Like The Flowing River' by Paulo Coelho, serving as the catalyst for my newfound interest and the sheer joy of reading. At times, I felt as though I were engaged in a one-on-one conversation with the author, an experience that proved truly enriching. This encounter marked the inception of my exploration into the literary realm, introducing me to a myriad of other remarkable authors and their works.
These initial encounters were transformative, influencing me significantly during my formative years in my twenties. The wisdom and perspectives offered by these authors played a pivotal role in shaping my life, contributing to the person I am becoming.

It has been nearly 14 years since I first embarked on my reading journey, during which I have diversified my literary preferences with many other outstanding titles recommended by friends and students. I look forward to sharing these in my future posts, so please stay tuned!
